I had two tea cups and saucers that I bought in the Southern Highlands. Crockery has arrived from England that used to be in husband E's Aunt's house. I was given a sweet jug and sugar bowl. I really liked them. I put them with my cups and saucers and realised that they were a match, the same name underneath the cup/saucer and the jug/bowl; the same pattern on the china.

My parents are at sea, we are loving their letters and postcards. I have typed the letter as it is written and emailed copies to my cousins and sister. Each of our children will have a typed copy for their memory boxes as well. We are almost on board ourselves.

We put this gate on to the kitchen entry when 8 year old daughter was a preschooler and 5 year old daughter was a new born baby. I liked having it for safety issues, to keep little people away from boiling pots. Also, just to have a little personal space!
Well, the gate is coming off one of its hinges and we feel as though we can now remove it. Our youngest is 3, but she knows the rules. We haven't actually closed it for a long time.
11 year old son can now share shoes with me, not that he is that interested...does that mean that I can now borrow his new basketball sneakers?
He started basketball three weeks ago as he is now as tall as me. He loves it and is thriving!
We have met some lovely new families as well, some of whom will go to our local high school next year. I love community!

Chocolate is a winner for afternoon tea here, be it in cereal or chocolate cake. Here is a great recipe as it is nut free and can go to school:
Chocolate Sliver Cake:
400g dark choc.
2 cups caster sugar
4 T flour.
Mix and pour into 20cm square cake tins. This recipe makes two cakes. Bake at 180 degrees. The children and husband E loved it.
