Close the Door.

The final shop for food tonight for Christmas Day.

Otherwise, am enjoying not rushing around nor shopping.

Shopping in Gold Rush Times.

I ordered some old fashioned lollies (candy/sweets) from Sovereign Hill for Christmas gifts. I had remembered that we had tasted some when we visited. They were delicious. They are made to an original recipe. Sovereign Hill has recreated life in the times of the Australian Gold Rush. The package came in a wooden box, wrapped in brown paper with a wax seal. I placed my order online and the goods arrived within a week. There were many flavours to choose from. I would highly recommend a browse in their online shop!

Christmas Decorations.

We opened the bag of decorations. In years past it was a big job, but now it is done with great excitement and speed, we have four children eager to help!

The Business of Busyness.

The business of writing one's Christmas cards.

The Pudding.

....is hanging.

Arbor, Amour.

Our tree, which has been loved by us, with rope ladders and leaves to jump in in the Autumn, was removed today. We are sad. The access for our back neighbours was compromised by the growing trunk. Farewell.
Where will the possums play now?

Wedding Anniversary.

Um what are we up to? 14 years.

Advent 1.

We lit the first candle for Advent; the coming of Christ (although Christ is with us now...)

A circular plate as it represents the eternity of God.

I am missing the evergreen foliage as it has been raining and I would like to wait till the holly bush is dry again before I bring some in. Evergreens, He is ever with us.

We read Romans 15:12-13.

And again, Isaiah says,

"The Root of Jesse will spring up, one who will arise to rule over the nations; the Gentiles will hope in him."

A Little Lady in the Lavender Patch.

Not quite my little lady that I made from paverpol, but this is our little lady in the lavender patch.

Love My Coffee Machine!

Need I say more?

Cages.

I found these bird cages on kerbside cleanout. I hope to put pots of cherry tomatoes and herbs inside them and place them on the deck; close to the kitchen. The cage will hopefully stop Noddy the cat from digging and nibbling at the plants.

Da Hoop.

Oh the boys that we had over here for 'almost 12 year old son's' birthday gathering on Saturday, loved shooting hoops. A different day here today; pouring rain. I am pleased for the respite from the heat and humidity of the weekend.

Our Zoo Went to Their Zoo.

The Groovy Aunt gave us a gift voucher (last Christmas) to go to the Australian Wildlife Park and the Aquarium.

11 year old son took the following photo's.

Unfortunately the above Red Back Spider is to be found in our garden!

Baby crocs hatching.....

School Trivia Night.

The school trivia night; a Halloween theme of course, but we thought that we would think outside the square.
Note the eyeball and coffin chocolates.

We were Mary Poppins and Bert the Chimney Sweep.

Friends.

Good friends. Aunty L gave us a huge lasagne last week which was absolutely delicious.

We have been blessed in so many ways by Aunty L: lovely clothes for the little girls, treats, lovely times at their home, choc chip cookies, chicken and corn soup, lifts to and from ballet, babysitting- allowing me to be in the classroom with our 8 year old daughter when she was in kindergarten and so many more things.

We think alike in many things, love lavender and use tea tree to clean our houses.

Our dear sons are friends and hence we met. A jolly good thing.

Hazel Has a Sleepover.

The Vintage car that husband E and his Dad restored has had a sleepover after a visit to the local mechanic.

Her name is Hazel as her rear view reminded E's parents of a character in a comic strip called Hazel.

Paverpol.

Our finished ladies, mine is the one at the back with no added clothing......

Samples that Denise from Paverpol brought.

Early steps.....

Mum treated the groovy Aunt and I to a Paverpol workshop. Mum's friend A. was the gracious host and set the scene for a day of relaxation and creativity. Our instructor Denise was patient and had thought of everything.

We started with aluminium sticks and foils. We moulded the 'skeleton'. Added a head and petite nose. Then we built up the body. We dipped fabric in Paverpol and bandaged our sculptures. The Paverpol product will dry hard and be waterproof. Some of the ladies then dressed their sculptures while I left mine as she was. She is heading for the lavender patch in the garden.

We were thrilled with our individual pieces.

The Groovy Aunt has made a sculpture for her new wholistic business premises.

First Thing in the Morning....

while the house was still and quiet, children sleeping in in the holidays....
Cup of tea, toast and reading a book about a man who has started "Christians Against Poverty".

Jugs of Lavender.

The lavender in the garden is growing beautifully. It sits in Aunty L's jug perfectly.

Hair-do's.

We have had problems downloading photo's on to the computer, so excuse whilst my recount is a little out of order or has little sequence....

4 year old daughter loved having her hair 'done' by 8 year old big sister.

Baskets 'A Plenty.

I still love baskets.
