Busyness.....

4 year old daughter has been making toys for Noddy the cat this morning.....

My busyness involves cleaning floors, putting washing away, baking, starting the thorough clean of a bedroom and sorting through old paperwork for bills etc.

4 year old daughter has accomplished her goals, I have accomplished one: the floors. Also the the first coffee of the day is brewing.

Passing things on .....

There are two items that we are sending to temporary homes with friends. The first was a playpen and the second will be a Summer kimono I brought home from Japan. The picture shows the fabric (apologies that it is not sharper).
It is much better that these things get used or looked at, rather than being packed away.

Spring in our Garden.

The elusive Waratah, actually this one is in my neighbour's backyard....

Holly?

Lilly Pilly.

Chinese Windflowers.

I have just noticed that we have a lot of red coloured plants in our garden. The garden has taken care of itself but whilst out photographing, I noticed that some weeding will need to be done. Also 6 year old daughter will want to start a vegetable garden again. This should be more successful this year as we have good compost. If I show you photos of the garden, then I can busy myself Spring cleaning the bedrooms.

I'll post pictures of the white/grey plants later in the week.

Fixing Our Finances.

There is a great challenge to join in with Happy to be at Home and the theme changes each month. Firstly was Clear the Clutter, then Face Time With the Kids and now Fixing our Finances. My aim for the month will be slightly different. I will attempt to clear the backlog of filing that we do not need to keep anymore regarding bills etc.

Quiet Moment.

This evening, with husband E either reading or watching something on the television. Children all in good moods and enjoyed a good, healthy dinner of steak sandwiches and lots of salad items. I can rest in the knowledge that they have all had a good day.

The Simple Woman's Daybook.

Outside the window is Spring....
I am thinking that I will need to resume my walks on a Tuesday morning.
I am thankful for lovely, welcoming, encouraging teachers at our school and preschool.
From the kitchen I will be baking many things for fathers' day; biscuits (cookies) and lemon slice. I am going to a Multicultural assembly today to hear 6 year old daughter sing.
I am wearing jeans, a pink shirt and a denim waistcoat.
I am reading New Zealand "Home Beautiful" magazines and "The Ministry of Motherhood."
I am hoping to tackle the bedrooms this week.
I am hearing 2 year old daughter playing with wooden puzzles.
Around the house is the need for a Spring clean.
One of my favourite things is feeling a breeze.
A few plans for the rest of the week include going to a wedding of a student I taught 12 years ago. She was 9 at the time.
Here is my picture thought...

We had to babysit a toy dog from the preschool on the weekend. His name is "Bluey" and we had to write a diary about what he did with 4 year old daughter.

Multicultural Monday.

We have Multicultural Day at school today, so the childrens' grandparents have lent them some items from Africa. 6 year old daughter is wearing a lovely wrap around cloth and 9 year old son is wearing a hat and blanket from Lesotho.
