Avoiding the Paint Job.
We did not want to paint the end of this cabinet, so we have put up 8 year old daughter's artwork (which is my background for my header) to brighten things up.
We rearranged quite a few pictures these holidays and put up some new blinds. Photo's later....
Onions.
Mum and Dad had been to the markets and brought lots of fruit and vegetables to our house, including these onions. They smelt good.
Holidays Ended.
We went down to Canberra for Floriade. It was as enjoyable as ever with the added bonus of honey popcorn and honey lollipops.
We have had a lovely holiday with husband E home for both weeks, and we have picked up our dear cat, Noddy. Part of the enjoyment of travelling, is coming home.

Satisfying and Simple.
A whole month of Spring already?
We had sausages done on the BBQ, watching for swooping kookaburras.
Strawberries dipped in chocolate, thanks to Liz for the inspiration.
Lots of sunny spots in the garden. Blue skies, no smoke in the air from bushfires.....
A cool wind, yet sun on the back.
Very satisfying.

Spring at the Lakehouse.
A week at the lakehouse. 13 year old son started windsurfing, 10 year old daughter could lift the sail out of the water. Balancing on the fence, midnight long Monopoly, Scrabble, "Happy Families", snacks as the sun set (cheese/pate and crackers), canoeing, I read two books, playing in the sand and long sleep ins. 13 year old son looked after the evening fires. No TV and no phone. It was wonderful. I read "Backwards in High Heels" and "Belly Dancing for Beginners".

Spring Brunch.
Today was the annual Spring gathering at our house. Brunch this year as I love serving a brunch menu and it also gave us all a chance to get things done in the afternoon before the children came home from school.
I made 'muffins'. This time I used a cupcake recipe (with the mix master) and put a tinned cherry in the muffin tin and then the mixture. The mixture had white chocolate chips through it. I also made a zucchini fritatta, heated some little quiches and had a platter of fruit. We made our own cocktails of ginger beer, cloudy apple and sparkling pear juice.
Somehow, I was at the receiving end of many lovely treats. Beautiful flowers from Mrs C, lovely tiered cake plates from Aunty L (very Japanesque), serviettes from Fiona ,lemonades and lemon cake from Mrs N. A fruity bun from Mrs Choo Choo and Mrs B made a very decadent gluten free, lemon tart. Mrs J.B from church brought chocolates. They were delicious.
Blue skies, sunshine and hats for some.
Tomorrow there will be hazard reduction in the bushland (burning the undergrowth) so the air will be smokey. Glad to have today's enjoyment.

Afternoon Coffee on the Deck.
It is now warm! Yes September the 1st came and so did the warmer weather. I now sit out on the deck for my afternoon coffee, sharing my space with Noddy the cat and looking in to the family/dining area. I love the birds that seem to dive and glide on the cusp of warmer winds.
