Apple Pie.

Delicious apple pie from the Thermomix community recipes.  The last of the apples from the mountains.

Stewed Apples, Produce From the Mountains.

Our annual trip to the mountains with local mums.  Thankyou husbands!

I bought a large bag of apples and used an apple slinky machine (thankyou Aunty L.) to get them peeled quickly.  Then cinnamon and cloves (thankyou Mrs N) and into the pressure cooker for 12 minutes wiht some water.  After they were done, I mashed them and have put them into containers into the freezer.

Hanging About.

As I sat enjoying a cup of tea; I noticed that we have lots of 'bags' hanging about...
We use them as storage.

The top bag is 9 year old daughter's piano bag...
The next one holds my reading matter, William Morris design..
Then the bag from the Turner exhibition has recipes I would like to try... the purple bag holds 15 year old son's information regarding his forthcoming trip to Asia...
The Wooden 'bag' holds yarn and a crochet hook (will have to revisit this this Winter) and finally the hessian bag on the back of the front door holds books for church or church small group gatherings.
There is a bag hanging down on to the ground in that photo, it holds slippers for visitors!

This Weekend.

A lot of time spent in the kitchen yesterday: banana bread, passionfruit slice and chicken soup.
I love seeing our children's artwork and the above piece was done by 9 year old daughter.
The aim this week is to plant sweet peas.  The garden bed needs to be prepared (ie weeded and composted soil added to the garden bed).  Husband E will build a trellis.

Passionfruit Slice:

Bake a base of your choice.  This time I made a shortbread base, but next time I might try a coconut/flour type of base which I have used for choc/caramel slice in the past.
For the topping, mix a can of condensed milk, a small can of passionfruit and 3T of lemon juice.
Pour over the baked base and bake till set.
Refrigerate.  It is quite rich!

Hands On.

Two of our children have been involved with the Davis Dyslexia program over the last 2 weeks.  There was a plant nursery close by so one child chose to build up their plant collection....

In Top Gear.

15 year old son and husband E enjoyed The Top Gear Festival again this year as their Christmas gift from last year.  A great day!
