Bushfires.

Our thankfulness to those who are working tirelessly for those affected by the bushfires.  

Pancakes.

Our family love pancakes, but my mixtures have never been smooth and the pan has not been that great either.  We invested in a good quality pan and the thermomix whipped up a superb batter.  Add to that some good quality maple syrup care of Mrs N for my birthday and we have had a fab morning!

Recipe from the Thermomix Forum:

160g plain flour
160g SR flour
2 eggs
600g milk.

Mix on speed 5 for 30 seconds.  Stand for 30 minutes.  Fed our family of 6 happily.

State Basketball Competition.

Our son's team went to the State competition and had a wonderful time..... Well done!

The Turner Exhibition.

The War Memorial, Canberra.

I was blown away with how the War Memorial affected me.  You can't help but think of lives lost and sacrifice.  The mosaic was beautifully done.
11 year old daughter and I went to Canberra for the weekend.  Her last year at primary school, and she wanted to spend more time at the War Memorial and the Art Gallery.  We saw the Turner exhibition..

Pia Jane Bijkerk: Many Good Ideas.

Pia Jane Bijkerk who contributes to Country Style magazine is full of great ideas.  

In an issue I read recently, she speaks of her love of glass jars.  She had a great idea for one use; that is to put a photo inside....

Ikea and Home Beautiful.

One of our children loves to collect little plastic toys and they become her treasures.  They do pile up though.

I saw a fantastic idea in a Home Beautiful magazine and have copied it.  I bought some deep frames from Ikea and then arranged the toys inside it.

We have hung them on the wall.  I am enjoying the plastic toys now!
