Meal Plan.
Unlike the amazing meal photographed above which we enjoyed near Mt Fuji, my meal plan is less spectacular.
Since the children are at school (including 5 year old daughter who started school this year), a fast and easy weekly meal plan is necessary.
For week one, this worked well:
Monday: steak and salad (fast after coming in late from visits with cousins and Grandad)
Tuesday: chicken (this week 2 varieties: teriyaki in one pan and olive oil and herbs in the other). There were leftovers for lunches and Thursday's dinner.
Wednesday: bolognaise or mince. There were enough leftovers for the next night.
Thursday: A very busy night for us; so the leftover bolognaise and chicken came in handy.
Friday: pizza and sausage-relaxing night... but we might change that a bit next week.
Saturday: pasta and possible a bbq at lunch..
Sunday: Bbq chicken at lunch and curry/roast/casserole for dinner. I hope to use the oven only if the weather is cool enough.

Fresh Produce Friday
As I place orders and shop I am planning meals for next week. They will include roast beef, bacon and lentil soup (again), teriyaki chicken OR chicken pie and beef pies for a lunch I am hosting.
We have been given a lot of lemons and grapefruits so husband E is juicing the grapefruit for himself as well as orange juice.

Fresh Produce Friday
I will be placing an order for fruit, vegetables, milk, bread and eggs shortly. Meals for next week will include teriyaki chicken, bolognaise, Shepherd's pie and possibly pumpkin soup. Mrs H gave me a meal planner for my birthday which I will enjoy using.
I felt guilty last night as I left for an appointment at 6pm and left husband E to finish homework and give the children their dinner. There was not much left in the fridge and pantry as I had a huge grocery list to deal with at the shops. When I came home though, husband E said that there had been plenty of soup left over and all enjoyed the last of the chocolate cake with ice cream for dessert. Loaves and fishes....

Fresh produce Friday
Today my fruit, veg, milk, bread and eggs are being delivered. I love this as the price is good and the convenience wonderful.
I also think ahead to meals next week and I think they will include roast beef and roast vegetables and a bacon and lentil soup that the 9 year old boy hates. It is a good recipe as it goes in the crockpot:

Bacon and Lentil soup
Place the following in the crockpot;
bacon bones (with some meat on them), chopped celery and carrot, a large tin of diced tomatoes, half a bag of red lentils and some water to cover. Cook on AUTO all day. It is delicious when the meat falls off the bone.
