Puff: Christmas Fire Engines.
On Christmas Eve, three fire engines came through all the local streets, throwing lollies at the children. Santa was on the back of one of the engines.

Bushfire Season.
October 1st marked the beginning of the period of time where fires are more of a risk. Our neighbour's property had some hazard reduction and we were assessed to see if we were still on top of our skills for the Community Fire Unit.

Real Life.
A little hiatus, as I am busy with many, many things:
Occupational and speech therapy for one child, rugby league and high school orientation for another, choirs and ballet concerts for a third and trying to keep up with the interests of the fourth.
The extended family is going through memorials for deaths, births and birthdays. We have overseas visitors too.
It is hot and Community Fire Unit training begins today.
I have not bitten off more than I can chew, this is life.

Day One Perth.
Well we are back on the East coast after a lovely time away. It is a little like childbirth in that distance from the occasion makes only the fondest memories prominent. The children are better friends as a result of the trip, with lots of verbal games and rhymes. How to display photo's of a trip to others and not overdo it? An attempt will follow over the next few days as time allows.
I have come home to lots of work regarding Community Fire Units, but after a few hiccups we look set to go..... Our first hot day here so it will be good to get lots of training regarding safety in the time of bushfires.

Preparing for the Bushfire Season.
We are heading towards the bushfire season and we live on a ridge surrounded by bush. We have applied for Community Fire Units and we will be getting five in the next few weeks. The use of each unit will involve training.
I am the contact person for our street so have spent today making a data base of contact details. The next step is to organise a venue and meeting times......
