Stirring Weekend.
Making my first Christmas cake. I used Kirsty Allsopp's recipe with a few tweaks... dry ginger beer instead of apple cider, lots of brandy added as well, lime zest only and now basting the top every day with more brandy. I also followed a tip I found on the internet where you spread the cake batter without the fruit into the base to prevent the burnt fruit on the top of the cake.

Holiday in Canberra and Berrima.
We caught up with family, went to Floriade, the National Art Gallery, The War Memorial and Berrima; enjoying older cottages and small town life.

A Day of Retreat.
A day of fellowship, quiet, reading, contemplation, chat, food, tea, coffee and a fantastic fire pit dinner with Moroccan lamb and roasted veg salad; with orange syrup cake and fruit for dessert.
A day's retreat with my Bible study ladies.
Let it Snow.
OK it was soft hail, but it was plentiful, it covered surfaces and for an hour; we could pretend that it snowed.

Window.
We bought a pane of stained glass which was very flimsy and delicate. Husband E has built a wooden frame around it and we have secured it to a plain window. I love it.

Milk Tart.
This milk tart was made by 15 year old daughter for a school assessment. We used my Ouma's recipe. The filling is similar to this recipe and we made the base which was in her recipe. Lovely how the taste of food can bring back memories.
