Taronga Zoo.

The groovy Aunt gave us tickets to go to the zoo for Christmas last year, so we went on the weekend. The younger two loved the animals, so many have only been seen in books.

6 year old daughter enjoyed plotting our path using a map.

10 year old son enjoyed using his camera. Both the older two thought that the lions, giraffes, zebra , elephants and monkeys that they saw in Africa was the preferable way to see animals. 10 year old son was a little distressed to see the animals stuck in one place.

This zoo has done many good things though to ensure breeding programs and to care for injured animals.

If you ever go to Taronga Zoo, go and see the bird show. Amazing. Can you imagine a flock circling a small arena and Sydney Harbour, all synchronised and doing about fifteen revolutions. All in colour coordination and order.

The first photo is of Kangaroo Paw, a plant that grows well in a drier climate. The 'paws' are just like those of a kangaroo.

We had to see a wombat, my absolute favourite animal. The koalas were incredibly active for daytime as well; jumping from tree to tree. So amazing. I loved the back view of the Chimpanzee who sat right in front of us. I loved watching his hands and looking at his ears. What an amazing Creator to create such variety in animals.
