On the Thirteenth Day of December.....

We tidied the house, I could not have done without dear husband E. We have made some more chocolate icecream, wrapped presents for my family who are coming tomorrow and have gone to a lovely BBQ at our new neighbour's house. The children enjoyed a swim and we enjoyed relaxed, generous hospitality.

6 year old daughter lost her front tooth!!!
Chocolate Icecream:
Mix 2 cups thickened cream
1 cup milk
150g choc
in a pot over low heat. Remove just before boil.
Whisk 4 egg yolks with 110g caster sugar in a separate bowl.
Slowly add warm choc mixture to egg yolks, whisking. Then pour all into the pot, and mix over gentle heat till thickens. Mixture should coat the back of the spoon. Cool before putting in the fridge.
The next day, pour into ice cream maker. If you do not have an icecream maker, I think this recipe makes the most delicious chocolate sauce/custard. The children and I licked the bowl clean!!!
This recipe came with my ice cream maker.

Oh, you make the cooked kind of ice cream base just as my grandmother would do when I was a child. Then she would put it into a hand crank ice cream maker and the grandchildren would go to it! What sort of ice cream maker do you use I wonder?
