I have asked husband E and 7 year old daughter to sing and play Simon and Garfunkel's "Scarborough Fair" for my birthday at the end of June. They are practising. It already sounds good.
Here is 2 year old daughter 'practising' too!
Green hills, quiet and Creation. I endeavour to create a haven for my family...

That is so sweet. This Grandmother is taking piano lessons, and I can assure you it's a lot harder when you're old and decrepit! I regret giving them up when I was a teenager, but I keep plugging away.
I'm sure they will have a wonderful performance for your birthday.
I took piano lessons just after no. 4 was born, I lasted a year but will pick it up again in another 'season'.
I can remember singing this song as a youngster while listening to my Simon and Garfunkel album played on my record player. It seems the haunting words of this song course through my brain when I visit herb gardens today.
Interestingly enough, fairs do not stir up this song at all.
I gave piano lessons for a little while. I always liked the ones who liked the lessons. My teacher used to tell me that she knew when I didn't like a song because it would take me weeks to "get it". Then she would go into her kitchen, light a cigarette, and yell "B SHARP!" as I fumbled around thinking she couldn't hear me.
