I am hosting a "Welcome to Spring/September Sandwich" gathering. Could you all put your thinking caps on and send me some wonderful ideas for fillings pretty please?
You should check out the comments as the suggestions in are delicious.....Did you know that by sprinkling alfalfa on top of prepared sandwiches, they retain their moistness? A dear family friend's secret!

Mmmm .... let's see .... aside from the usual cheese/lettuce/tomato, cheese & ham, tuna salad, chicken mayonnaise, some more exciting / unusual fillings could be things like .... beef, cheese & pickle; Emmenthal cheese & cherry tomato; Pork & Prune; Garlic Sausage & Cream Cheese; Pear & Ham; Salami & Mozzarella Cheese; Bacon & mushroom; Turkey & Sweetcorn; Mushroom & Beef Stroganoff .... none of these any of my ideas though I must admit, I just picked a few out of a handy little recipe book I have called 'Sandwich Fillings' ! You'll have to blog about it & let us know what you make .........
Cucumber and cream cheese
Thankyou both. A good friend has also suggested the following, I will type them here so I have all these good suggestions in one place:
smoked turkey/cranberry/brie
rare roast beef/cream cheese mixed with horseradish and spinach leaves
tandoori chicken with mayo and mango chutney
curried egg mayo
smoked salmon/creamcheese/capers/lemon/
dill
mortadella/gherkins/polish salami
My daughter makes up a mixture she calls chicken salad..it has chopped up chicken, celery, pecans and red grapes binded with mayo... and it is deeeeelishus!
